Silicon Designs, Inc. (SDI) has developed a miniature accelerometer technology that combines the high reliability of additive micromachining and integrated circuit technology to produce extremely robust, capacitive sensors that detect shock, vibration and acceleration. SDI specializes in commercial-grade accelerometers, such as in the detection of car crashes and for stability testing, to determine abnormal vibrations in racing cars and aircraft engines, and to monitor structural integrity in bridges, hydroelectric generators and wind turbines.
