Electronic components come in different types of packaging. Different components have the same shape, but their internal structures and uses differ. Complex electronic circuits are also composed of these electronic components.

For component identification, you can distinguish them by looking at the printed model. You can also determine devices that do not have characters on the components by analyzing the circuit principle or measuring the component parameters with a multimeter. So, what are the components commonly used on PCB boards? To help you understand in-depth, the following content summary is for your reference.

1. Resistors

The resistor is one of the most commonly used electronic components on the PCB board. The letter R, the unit for the ohm Ω, characterizes the conductor on the current obstruction. The circuit plays a shunt, current limiting, voltage divider, bias, etc.

2. Crystal diode

There are many kinds of crystal diodes, according to their materials, can be divided into silicon and germanium tubes; according to their function, there are: rectification, light, detection, voltage regulation, switching, continuous flow, rotation, Schottky diode, and silicon power diode; according to its structure point, can be divided into contact type and plane type, the former can pass small current, the latter can pass large current.

3. Inductor

Inductors are denoted by the letter L. Their structure is similar to that of a transformer. It is a device that converts electrical energy into magnetic energy and stores it in a circuit, mainly for filtering, oscillating, delaying, trapping, screening signals, filtering noise, stabilizing currents, and suppressing electromagnetic wave interference.

Other names for inductors: throttle, reactor, dynamic reactor, etc. They are classified according to their inductive mode: self and mutual inductance. Inductors have the characteristics of direct resistance crossover, i.e., they prevent the passage of AC and allow DC to pass smoothly, the opposite of capacitors.

4. Crystal transistor

Triode is a semiconductor substrate to produce two very close triodes PN junction, two PN the entire semiconductor is divided into three parts, the middle part of the base area, both sides of the emission area, and collector area. Arrangement of PNP and NPN two.

5. Field effect transistor

A field effect transistor, abbreviated FET, is referred to as a field effect tube. JFET (junction type) and metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect tube (MOS-FET) are two types. A field-effect tube, a unipolar transistor, is a voltage-controlled semiconductor device. This function is used for amplification. Since the input impedance of FET amplifiers is high, the coupling capacitance can be small, so electrolytic capacitors are not required.
