Compensation capacitor installation environment

1) Capacitors should be installed in places where there is no corrosive gas, no steam, no severe vibration, impact, explosion, flammability, etc. The fire rating of the capacitor is not less than two.

2) Capacitors installed outdoors should be protected from direct sunlight.

3) The ambient temperature of the capacitor chamber should meet the requirements specified by the manufacturer, generally specified as 40 °C.

4) When installing the fan in the capacitor chamber, the air outlet should be installed at the upper end of the capacitor bank. The intake and exhaust fans should be installed at diagonal positions.

5) The capacitor chamber can be used for natural lighting or artificial lighting, and no heating device is required.

6) The door of the high voltage capacitor chamber should be opened outward.

Technical requirements for installation of compensation capacitors

1) In order to save the installation area, the high-voltage capacitors can be layered on the iron frame, but the number of vertical placement layers should be no more than three layers, and horizontal layer spacers should not be installed between the layers to ensure good heat dissipation. The installation positions of the upper, middle and lower three-layer capacitors should be the same, and the brand name should be outward.

2) The iron frame for installing high-voltage capacitors shall be arranged in one row or two rows. There shall be a walkway for inspection inspection between the rows and rows. The width of the walkway shall be not less than 1.5m.

3) The iron frame of the high-voltage capacitor bank must be covered with a wire mesh, and the mesh of the obstruction should be 3~4cm2.

4) The distance between the high-voltage capacitor casings should not be less than 10cm; the distance between the low-voltage capacitor casings should be not less than 50mm.

5) In the high-voltage capacitor room, the clearance between the upper and lower layers should not be less than 0.2m; the distance between the bottom of the lower capacitor and the ground should be no less than 0.3m.

6) Each capacitor should be connected to the busbar by a separate cord. Do not use a hard busbar connection to avoid oil leakage or damage caused by stress on the porcelain bushing during installation or operation.

7) When installing, the contact surface of the electrical circuit and the grounding part should be good. Because of any bad contact in the capacitor circuit, high-frequency oscillating arcs may occur, resulting in increased working electric field strength and thermal damage of the capacitor.

8) When capacitors of lower voltage level are operated in series and operated in a higher voltage class network, the outer casing of each station should be reliably insulated by adding measures such as insulators of the operating voltage level to the ground.

9) When the capacitor is connected by a star, it is used for a higher rated voltage, and when the neutral point is not grounded, the outer casing of the capacitor should be insulated from the ground.

10) Before the capacitor is installed, the capacity should be allocated once to balance the phase, and the deviation should not exceed 5% of the total capacity. When the relay protection device is installed, it should also meet the requirement that the operating balance current error does not exceed the relay protection action current.

11) The wiring of the individual compensation capacitors should be: for the induction motor that is started directly or through the varistor, the capacitor with improved power factor can be directly connected to the outlet terminal of the motor. Do not install switchgear or fuse between the two. For induction motors starting with a star-delta starter, it is best to use three single-phase capacitors, each of which is directly connected in parallel to the two terminals of each phase winding, so that the wiring of the capacitor is always connected to the winding. Consistent.

12) The packet compensation low voltage capacitor should be connected to the outside of the low voltage group bus power switch to prevent the self-excitation phenomenon when the group bus switch is turned off.

13) Centrally compensated low-voltage capacitor banks shall be provided with switches and mounted on the outside of the main line switch, not on the low-voltage bus.
